We are saddened to hear that one of four remaining York Normandy Veterans, George Meredith, passed away this week at the age of 92.
Mr Meredith signed up for active service in London aged 17 and became a driver in the Royal Army Service Corps.
It was an honour to meet George and hear his wartime memories at our ‘Bringing Conflict Home’ event in May. Our thoughts are with his loved ones.

Bringing Conflict Home – Conference Schedule
We are delighted to announce that registration is now open to attend ‘Bringing Conflict Home’. The registration fee is £10 and there is space available to indicate your availability for both the conference itself and our evening wine reception event to be held at the York Army Museum in the evening of Thursday 11 May.
Due to increased interest and available funds, the conference will now take place over two days (11-12 May 2017). We have been generously awarded WRoCAH and HRC funding to host our event and are delighted that we are able to extend the conference.
